Exporting and Extracting Data via ArcGIS Online

Users may choose to do this for a variety of practical reasons such as offline access, data backup, analysis, data sharing, integration with other systems, archiving, and reporting/compliance submission.

Exporting from a hosted feature layer.

Inventory data that powers the BlueConduit LSLI Dashboard are stored in a hosted feature layer. This hosted feature layer is located in the same folder where the LSLI solution was deployed. By default, this folder is called “Lead Service Line Inventory”, the feature layer that contains the Inventory data is called “ServiceLine”, the one that contains the results of the self assessment survey is called “Service Line Self-Assessment”.

To access these layers:

  • Log in to ArcGIS Online for your organization.
  • Navigate to the hosted feature layer's item details page. Note that you can also filter by Feature Layer.

  • On the layer's item details page, on the Overview tab, click Export Data and select the data format.
  • After you select your export format, you will be prompted for a name and location to save the file. By default, files are saved in the root folder of the user's account with the same name as the hosted layer.

See the list of formats below:
    • Shapefile
    • CSV
    • KML
    • Microsoft Excel
    • GeoJSON
    • File geodatabases (FGDB)
    • Feature collections
    • GeoPackage files

Note: When you export to CSV or Excel from a point layer, latitude and longitude values for the points are exported to the file. When you export a line or polygon layer, only non-spatial attributes are exported.

  • After the item is created, you can download the file from the detail page of the recently created file.

Exporting using the table view.

In the BlueConduit LSLI Dashboard, users also have the ability to create filtered views of the data and download a subset using the export function built into the table view.

To download using the table view:

  • Log in to ArcGIS Online for your organization.
  • Navigate to and open the BlueConduit Dashboard.
  • Select the Inspection Manager (or the Predictive Modeling) Tab and access the table view.
  • While in the table view, you can choose which columns to hide/show, sort by, or create filters to narrow down the dataset.
  • In the actions menu (four small dots), you can then select “Export” and export the data in JSON, CSV, or GeoJSON formats
